Ohio State University continues to make it’s case for being wide receiver-U after 4-star recruit Jeremiah McClellan becomes their latest commitment.

It’s a splash acquisition for the Buckeyes, as the team will be receiving yet another versatile weapon in the passing game.

According to 247 Sports, McClellan chose to play for Ohio State over a long list of potential suiters. However, Ohio State, Missouri, Oregon, and LSU were finalists for the 4-star recruit.

He’s also the 91st ranked recruit on 247 Sports’ rankings.

Jeremiah McClellan was asked why he chose the Buckeyes over the other schools on his list, per 247 Sports.

“I like the vibe from the players. I like how coach (Brian) Hartline treats his players. I like how he teaches them and how they develop their players. I want to go into Aviation Science and I can do that (at Ohio State). The players love it there. Everyone I talked to there has the same goal in mind and I really like that.”

This very well could be a dream pairing. Ohio State has produced numerous top wide receiver prospects over the years. Some standout names include Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, and Terry McLaurin, just to name a few.

The Buckeyes currently have Marvin Harrison Jr. on the roster, who is arguably the best wide receiver prospect in recent years.

With that said, Jeremiah McClellan probably made the right choice for his potential career in the NFL.

McClellan is part of the 2024 class and will begin his freshman year at Ohio State in that year. Depending on how quickly he develops, he could make an immediate impact for the Buckeyes.
