Poor Fred Warner had to deal with the mess created by the 49ers front office.
On Wednesday, the Niners announced Sam Darnold would be the backup QB to Brock Purdy leaving Trey Lance as the team’s third string QB.
It was later reported that the Niners have been trying to trade Lance this offseason.
Neither GM John Lynch or head coach Kyle Shanahan opted to speak to the media after the news dropped. Instead they had team caption Fred Warner speak to the media.
