The 2023 World Series of Poker has been going on for nearly a month now and we are just a week away from the start of the Main Event, the Cadillac of WSOP events.

This year’s Event #48: $1,000 SENIORS No-Limit Hold’em Championship brought in a record field size for that tournament with 1,227 players making the money.

Sunday’s action started with 29 players and they played down to the final 7 who will reconvene on Monday evening for the final table. During Sunday’s action, current chip leader Dan Heimiller butted heads with Ron Fetsch in a hand that sent 50 million chips into the middle of the pot.

Heimeller’s QhQd faced off against Fetsch’s AsKs. PokerGo is calling this the ‘Craziest Poker Hand of the 2023 World Series of Poker’ which might be hyperbole because I’m not even sure it’s the craziest hand of that event yesterday. But it was a wild WSOP hand:

Calling that the ‘crazies WSOP hand of 2023’ certainly caught my attention. But I would point to this WSOP hand from the same table on Sunday in the $1,000 SENIORS No-Limit Hold’em Championship as crazier hands. AK vs AK:

That’s just a brutal way to get bounced from a tournament when there are only 17 players left, AK vs AK.

The final table of Event #48: $1,000 SENIORS No-Limit Hold’em Championship meets on Monday evening and will play down to a winner who will receive a coveted gold bracelet and $765,731 for first place.

The final table for Event #54: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship will also play down to a winner on Monday so swing on over to PokerGo for coverage of those WSOP tables if you’re interested.
