Guy Catches A-Rod’s 3000th Hit, Tweets He’s Keeping The Home Run Baseball For Himself

That right there is baseball history, folks. Alex Rodriguez went yard off of recently activated Justin Verlander in the first inning of Friday’s game against the Detroit Tigers, becoming the 29th player in Major League Baseball history to notch 3,000 hits.

Here was the bomb:

On the receiving end of A-Rod’s 13th HR of the season was Zack Hample. According to his Twitter bio, he’s quite the baseball collector, so Rodriguez’s 3K very well may stand to be the greatest piece of memorabilia in his collection to date. Hard to think of anything that could come close to rivaling it, actually.

Hample’s tweets are super enthusiastic about the snag, as you can imagine.

Fan or not, that’s history in the palm of your hand!

No matter how you cut it, 3,000 hits is 3,000 hits. Something tells me Hample might be in line for quite the pay day courtesy of the New York Yankees.
