Since Aaron Rodgers joined the New York Jets, he has been doing and saying all the right things.

He went to playoff games with his teammates to celebrate other local teams.

He has been talking up his teammates.

Today, he even made it pretty clear that is planning on sticking aroun with the Jets beyond just this season.

Now he has done something that should make him even more popular with his teammates and with fans of the Jets.

He took a pay cut and it was a pretty big one.

Rodgers was set to be owed $110 million by the Jets over the course of the next two seasons thanks to one of the NFL’s largest contracts.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Rodgers has agreed to a new deal with the Jets that will pay him $75 million over the next 2 years, saving the Jets $35 million over those two years.

It’s a pretty big team-oriented move from Rodgers to take this big of a pay cut from the Jets.

This will make Rodgers the 12th highest-paid QB in football and will open up opportunities for the New York Jets.

The Jets could end up being active ahead of the trade deadline with any extra cap space this has created for them if they are in the playoff race at the time.

It should also provide them with some added flexibility next offseason.

With a move like this from Aaron Rodgers, it’s clear he’s willing to do whatever he needs to in an effort to win the second ring of his NFL career.
