Given that he’s now 39 years old, there have been questions about how long Aaron Rodgers plans on playing with the New York Jets.

According to recent comments from the four-time NFL MVP, though, he apparently sees the Jets’ championship window being open for more than one season, seemingly hinting that he could stick around as a result.

“I love being around the young energy, the excitement. There’s a great feel to this team, guys who are young and super talented on their first contracts, many of them,” Rodgers said at the Jets’ training camp earlier this week, via ESPN.

“When you have so many great players on rookie deals, it’s pretty exciting, knowing you can do something. You’ve got a good window. It’s not just a one-year thing where you can be competitive, which is fun.”

Rodgers is currently heading into the second year of a three-year, $150 million contract that he signed with the Green Bay Packers back in March of 2022, which makes it more likely than not that he suits up for the Jets next season, as well.  Plus, with Tom Brady playing at a high level until he was 45 years old, there’s also the potential that Rodgers believes he could do something similar.

How things turn out for the Jets this season will likely go a long way in determining whether or not Rodgers decides to stick around beyond this season. Rodgers certainly isn’t alone in his opinion that the Jets’ are currently in the midst of a championship-contending window, as betting odds out of Las Vegas currently have Gang Green as one of the top seven favorites to win the Super Bowl title this season.

At this time, only the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Dallas Cowboys have shorter odds to win the Super Bowl.
