Aaron Rodgers Wins Ridiculous New York Jets Team Award Despite Playing Just One Drive

The New York Jets are nothing if not constantly amusing.

That trend continued recently when the organization named star quarterback Aaron Rodgers the recipient of the 2023 Dennis Byrd Award.

“What is the Dennis Byrd Award,” you might ask.

Good question.

The award is given to the “most inspirational player” in the New York Jets organization.

Rodgers, who the Jets traded for in the offseason and was supposed to around the franchise’s fortunes, played just four snaps in 2023.

He tore his achilles on the opening drive of the opening game of the season against the Buffalo Bills.

BUT.

He did manage to return to practice by the end of the season. Even if there was never really much chance of him returning to play.

Rodgers was so inspiration that he’s helped lift New York from a 7-10 record in in 2022 to 6-10 in 2023 with one game remaining.

What a leader!

Aaron Rodgers Displays Leadership By Spreading Conspiracy Theory

When he’s not out inspiring his teammates, Rodgers has spent his time accusing late-night show hosts of pedophilia.

His recent comments about Jimmy Kimmel on The Pat McAfee Show were so out of line that McAfee himself had to walk them back.

“There can be something that was meant to be a s— talk joke, that can then become something that is a very serious allegation, that then leads to a massive overnight story,” McAfee said. “I can see exactly why Jimmy Kimmel felt the way he felt, especially with his position. But I think Aaron was just trying to talk s—.”

You can’t find that type of leadership just any old place!

But hey, it probably explains why the Jets organization has been nothing short of a disaster for the better part of several decades.

If that’s the guy they hope is going to fix a broken culture, I have bad news for New York fans.
