So far, so good — that’s the word out of Florham Park about the New York Jets’ experience with newly-acquired future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the 39-year-old signal-caller has been every bit of the franchise-trajectory-changing player that they hoped he’d be when they sent multiple draft picks to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for Rodgers.

“I’m hearing really strong reviews from people inside the Jets building on Aaron Rodgers’ early returns. Some of the texts that I’ve been getting back are saying: ‘True leadership and presence.;’ ‘Excellent in every aspect.;’ ‘As advertised;’ ‘Vocal in offense meetings;’ ‘Taking extra time with the wide receivers after practice to get on the same page;’ ‘Vibing with coaches,'” Fowler said of Rodgers’ time with Gang Green while appearing on SportsCenter earlier this week.

“So, these are some storylines you typically hear in late May, when the expectations aren’t as hard. But it is very clear that Rodgers has come in with a winning pedigree and has set a serious tone that the team has noticed, and it is up to him as to how long that lasts.”

A highly-motivated and focused Aaron Rodgers could certainly turn the Jets into Super Bowl contenders, which is what the bookies expect them to be this season, at least based on their current betting odds.

Presently, only the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys have better betting odds to win next year’s Super Bowl than Rodgers and the Jets.

Rodgers will make his debut from the New York Jets on Monday, September 11 when they take on Josh Allen (who has had a stellar offseason in his own right, albeit for completely different reasons) and the Buffalo Bills in the first Monday Night Football matchup of the season.
