The Pittsburgh Steelers got a massive win over the Baltimore Ravens over the weekend to not only snap a two-game losing streak, but take control of their destiny in the AFC North, as the win gave them the inside track to the division title over their heated rivals.

After the win, however — which gave the 7-6 Steelers control of their own fate in the AFC North over the 6-7 Ravens — Aaron Rodgers was asked “what it means” to get a big win after such a difficult week.

Rodgers’ brain, instead of thinking about the Steelers coming together as a team or tightening their grip on a playoff spot, immediately went to adversarial mode, and suggested it’ll “shut [the media] up” for a week.

Reporters “shutting the hell up for a week” was the first thing on Aaron Rodgers’ mind following a massive win over the Ravens

“Means maybe you guys will shut the hell up for a week,” he said before pausing, seemingly expecting a spattering of laughter, only to be met by silence.

Rodgers’ snide response, of course, ignores the context of the outside noise surrounding the Steelers’, which has largely centered on the future of head coach Mike Tomlin.

While the Steelers began the season with a 4-1 record, they’ve gone 3-5 since, while largely looking lost on defense despite having the most expensive unit in the league.

It’s not as though the media are the only ones suggesting Tomlin’s time in Pittsburgh could be coming to an end, as a decent portion of Steelers fans likely feel that way, too, especially following the loss to the Buffalo Bills a couple of weeks ago, in which both the offense and defense looked entirely overmatched.
