For the first time since tearing his Achilles four snaps into the 2023 NFL season (and his first with the New York Jets), quarterback Aaron Rodgers has returned to the team’s facility for practice.

In photos and videos posted to the New York Jets’ social media accounts, a sunglasses-and-hat-wearing Rodgers is seen smiling as he walks from his car into his Jets’ facility in Florham Park, New Jersey for voluntary offseason workouts.

Rodgers’ arrival at the Jets’ facility is the start of a long 2024 that will see both he and the organization go all-in on his repaired Achilles being able to hold up.

If it can, and the 40-year-old four-time MVP plays at the level NFL fans know he’s capable of, then the Jets — who boast impressive talent at all levels on both sides of the ball — have a shot at breaking the longest postseason drought in American professional sports (13 years and counting, with their last playoff game coming in the 2010 season).

If it can’t, or he can’t, then Rodgers will likely be out of New York as soon as he arrived, as head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas will surely be fired.

The Jets have certainly done all they can to give Rodgers what he needs, as they added the likes of offensive tackles Tyron Williams and Morgan Moses, wide receiver Mike Williams, linebacker Hasson Reddick, and backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor to a roster that already includes Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Sauce Gardner, Quinnen and Quincy Williams, ad more.

Despite their offseason additions and formidable defense, the Jets are currently the third betting favorites to win the AFC East, trailing the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins.

The Jets will certainly need to get off to a quick start, as Saleh’s precarious job status combined with Rodgers’ seemingly perpetual controversial ways, Gang Green could implode quickly if things aren’t going well.
