Aaron Rodgers was spotted on the MetLife Turf prior to the New York Jets’ Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Chargers throwing the ball 55+ yards.

Rodgers has been spotted on the field tossing the ball around prior to a few games this season, but doing the dropbacks and launching the ball half-the-length of the field represents a significant step forward for the 39-year-old quarterback.

Recent speculation, both valid and absurd, has indicated that Rodgers is apparently targeting a December return.

The one legitimate source is Taylor Lewan, the former Tennesseee Titans offensive lineman who now host the football podcast Bussin’ with the Boys alongside Will Compton.

As for the conspiracy theory, some NFL fans think one of Rodgers’ recent post on Instagram Stories might contain a clue about when he hopes to return.

If Rodgers did return in December, it would be just about three months after he tore his Achilles just four snaps into his career during Gang Green’s Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills.

There are still tons of factors at play when it comes to Rodgers’ return, however, such as whether or not he’s cleared by team doctors and if the Jets are even competitive enough that they’re worth returning to.

Currently, prior to their Monday Night Fooball game against the Chargers, the Jets sit at 4-3, which is the same number of losses as the Miami Dolphins and one less than the Buffalo Bills. Despite the fact that they’ve won three straight games, including one over the Philadelphia Eagles, and are at home, the Jets are 3.5 underdogs against the Chargers.

If you would’ve told Jets fans in the immediate aftermath of Rodgers’ shocking injury that they’d have the potential to enter Week 10 with a better record than the Bills, they’d likely call their nearest asylums to make sure there haven’t been any recently escaped patients.
