With just over a week until Aaron Rodgers‘ first official game as a member of the New York Jets, the 39-year-old future Hall of Famer is reiterating that his time with Gang Green so far has felt like a dream.

Speaking to the media earlier this week, the former Green Bay Packers signal-caller described his experience in the Big Apple so far as “waking up inside of a dream… a beautiful dream.”

“I told a friend this has felt like waking up inside of a dream, this whole experience — a beautiful dream,” Rodgers said.

“So many times you have a great dream and you wake up and you’re like, ‘I just want to get back into that thing’ and you can’t quite get back into the dream. I’ve woken up inside of that dream it feels like. That’s been really, really special.”

After getting wind of Rodgers’ hilariously deep quote, the folks at Good Morning Football had some fun with the moment by having someone with a Morgan Freeman-esque voice recite Rodgers’ words over a montage of New York City iconography.

While it’s certainly good to hear that Rodgers is enjoying himself, the dream will turn into a nightmare quite quickly if the Jets don’t get off to a strong start this year as the fan base is thirsting for the franchise to be competitive again, as they haven’t made the playoffs since 2010.

The marriage between Rodgers and the Jets will begin in earnest when Gang Green kicks off their 2023-24 campaign with a Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills in the inaugural Monday Night Football game of the season.

Currently, despite the fact that the game is being played at MetLife in front of what will surely be a raucous Jets crowd, the Bills are the betting favorites in the matchup by 2.5 points.
