Fans continue to wait for the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers to agree to terms on a deal to send Aaron Rodgers to East Rutherford.

While fans and Rodgers himself wait for a trade, the star quarterback has been spending time with a Jets wide receiver.

Today, Pat McAfee mentioned that Allen Lazard has been posting pictures of him and Rodgers working out together.

It looks like Aaron Rodgers won’t let the fact that the Jets and Packers haven’t actually been able to agree to a trade yet stop him from working with the receivers on the team he wants to play for.

Allen Lazard is the only receiver currently on the Jets’ roster that Rodgers doesn’t actually need to work on building a rapport with right now.

Rodgers and Lazard have spent the last 5 years together and connected on 169 passes for 2236 yards and 20 touchdowns over that time.

Lazard was Rodgers’ favorite target last season with the Packers. On a team that had a pair of rookies at receiver and some veterans whose best seasons came before Lazard had even entered the league, he stepped up and posted career highs.

Whenever the Jets and Packers manage to get a deal done, Lazard should remain one of Rodgers’ favorite targets, but now he’ll have some more competition for targets.

He’ll be joined by reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, Corey Davis, and Mecole Hardman and the Jets could even bring in Odell Beckham Jr.

With the NFL Draft quickly approaching, it shouldn’t be too much longer before Rodgers gets to work with all of his new receivers.

It just might be a long 3 weeks of anticipation before the deal fans have been waiting for actually gets done.
