The shark face logo was first featured on the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk flown by The Flying Tigers, which was the first American volunteer group comprised of Army and Navy air corps that saw its first action less than two weeks after the attacks on Pearl Harbor.
It’s about time Air Force got in on the alternative uniform game. Army had some killer camo uniforms in 2010 then featured the different branches graduate cadets enter on their helmets in 2015 while Navy’s been releasing new looks almost every year with the slick spray-painted van / flea market t-shirt style coming in 2015 as well.
The shark face nose art has been among the most iconic logos from the military world, and it’s got a good chance of becoming the most iconic college football uniforms ever.
