Thousands of Kansas City residents will be flocking to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII in what should be one of the most fun Super Bowl weeks of all-time in Sin City from February 5-11.

Every year, major airlines add extra flights to transport local fans to the Super Bowl destination. In fact, that’s something that occurs for a lot of sporting events, and in some cases for NFL regular season games.

American Airlines is one of those major airlines, and they’ve added some flights that are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce-themed.

American Airlines got in on the action, naming two flights with references to the power couple.

1989 refers to the year that Taylor Swift was born, as well as the name of arguably her biggest album, 2014’s 1989. More obviously, 87, the return flight from Las Vegas, refers to Travis Kelce’s jersey number.

United Airlines also got in on the act with a “1989” flight of their own.

I’m sure these flights will fill in no time, and would be full regardless of what number the airlines assigned to the flight. But, this is a fun way for these airlines to take advantage of the hype around the couple. Let’s face it, airlines typically need all the good PR that they can get.
