AJ Browns departure from the Philadelphia Eagles is all but guaranteed at this point. Philly fans are certainly letting the Pro Bowl wide receiver know how they feel about him on his way out of town.
One former Philadelphia Eagles star that’s taken exception to the way Eagles fans have been treating AJ Brown is safety CJ Gardner-Johnson, who took to social media to scold the Philly faithful.
Gardner-Johnson claimed that the fans have plenty of love for the Birds when they win but are now “bashing” AJ Brown. Brown, meanwhile, made a show of himself as a malcontent last season and has been eagerly seeking a trade away from the team.

Needless to say, Eagles fans were having none of Gardner-Johnson’s take on the matter.

The fact is AJ Brown could have shut down trade rumors at any point if he wanted to stay. People are accepting the reality that he wants to move on. Fans would undoubtedly support AJ if he wanted to remain an Eagle. https://t.co/Msay6TACoh

Now with the Buffalo Bills after signing a one-year, $6 million deal erlier in the offseason, Gardner-Johnson spent both 2022 and 2024 with the Eagles and was a starter on the Super Bowl winning team in ’24.
Brown, 28 years old, has spent the last four year with the Eagles after they acquired him in a trade with the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a 1st-round and 3rd-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. In each of his four seasons with the Eagles, he’s had over 67 catches and 1,000 yards, while setting a career-high in receiving yards (1,496) and receiving touchdowns (11) during his first season with the team in 2022.
