The Philadelphia Eagles took down the Green Bay Packers in NFL Playoff action on Sunday by a score of 22-10. The game was a defensive battle with limited scoring. Star players on the offensive side of the ball were held largely in check.

Wide receiver AJ Brown was one of those superstar talents contained by the opposing defense. He recorded season-lows in targets, catches, and yards.

Jalen Hurts threw Brown’s way just three times. The pass catcher secured one of those attempts for a 10-yard gain. That was all the damage he’d do in the wildcard round.

Philadelphia got most of its offensive production on the ground with Saquon Barkley racking up another 100-yard performance. Hurts did throw for two scores, but he totaled just 131 yards through the air.

The game saw more field goals than touchdowns. The Eagles led by two scores for a large part of the contest. There wasn’t much drama playing out on the field.

With his usage seeing a dip, and a rather boring game being played out on the field, AJ Brown took the moment to catch up on some light reading. He was seen on the sidelines with a book in between drives.

It appears that book was Inner Excellence written by Jim Murphy. It’s a book three-time PGA Tour winner Vaughn Taylor says, “will change your life.”

“Train your mind for extraordinary performance and the best possible life.”

-Inner Excellence

The author, Murphy, was a former baseball player in the Chicago Cubs organization. While his professional career didn’t end with MLB stardom, he swears by the book’s motivational techniques.

“There is no other training system that brings you the mastery, grit, and mental toughness of Inner Excellence, as well as the peace and joy of living the best possible life.”

Maybe Brown needed that motivation after a quiet night.

Nonetheless, the Eagles picked up the win to keep their season alive. AJ Brown hopes to be more involved in the offense next time out.
