The Alabama baseball team is still competing for an opportunity to make the College World Series. Auburn is not.

The Tigers‘ season ended with a loss to Ole Miss in the Super Regionals on Saturday. The Crimson Tide faithful stomped on their grave with an explicit chant in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama trolled their rival while celebrating a big win. They will look to secure bragging rights by advancing to Omaha.

Alabama baseball is one game away from the CWS.

The Crimson Tide hosted St. John’s at Sewell-Thomas Field in the Super Regional round of the postseason. They left with a convincing Game 1 victory.

Alabama shut out the Red Storm offense with an incredible two-hit performance. Starting pitcher Tyler Fey tossed 7.1 scoreless innings, striking out nine batters.

Reliever Ashton Crowther finished the contest with a near-perfect 1.2 innings of work.

The pitching staff had plenty of run support. Alabama got off to a quick 2-0 lead in the second frame. That advantage grew to 6-0 in the fourth.

The Crimson Tide plated two more runs in the eighth for insurance in an 8-0 win. They are now one win away from Omaha.

Near the end of that contest, the fanbase was heard singing “Dixieland Delight” from the bleachers. They explicitly trolled Auburn, whose season ended a few hours prior.

Auburn is going home.

As is tradition, the Alabama tune blared throughout the stadium as the Crimson Tide put an exclamation point on their victory. Fans, as always, took some creative liberties with the lyrics.

“F— Auburn,” chants rang out from the crowd. Tennessee and LSU received a mention, too.

Each of those teams has been eliminated from national title contention. Alabama remains.

Auburn had a shot to make the College World Series field after winning its Regional the weekend prior. Unfortunately, they were unable to get the job done in Round 2.

Ole Miss swept the Tigers on the road. A 5-3 result on Saturday effectively ended Auburn’s season.

It’s given Alabama ultimate bragging rights for the 2026 campaign. Not only did the Crimson Tide sweep the Tigers in a three-game regular season series, but they can continue their championship pursuits while Auburn watches from home.

Alabama will host St. John’s in Game 2 on Sunday. Game 3 is tentatively scheduled for Monday should the Red Storm pull an upset. With one more win, the Tide will punch its World Series ticket.
