Earlier on Sunday it was reported that a 23-year-old woman was fatally shot in Tuscaloosa.

Recently, more information came to light and it sounds like there are two suspects. One of them being Alabama basketball star Darius Miles.

Ben Flanagan reports that Miles has been charged with capital murder. For anyone not sure, capital murder is defined as a murder that is committed under certain aggravating circumstances, per the Houston Criminal Firm.

Additionally, it appears the Alabama star is already being taken into custody. Ben Flanagan shares a clip of Darius Miles “leaving the Tuscaloosa County Jail after being charged with capital murder following an early morning fatal shooting on the Strip in Tuscaloosa.”

On top of that, According to Michael Casagrande, the University of Alabama has already released a statement regarding the situation. This is a truly sad time for the victim and her family.

This is an incredibly serious situation, as Miles could face execution “if convicted of capital murder,” per David Hookstead.

Our thoughts go out to the victim’s family and friends.
