Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., son of former Crimson Tide star and NFL cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, has been officially kicked off the football team after his latest arrest.

The 20-year-old junior was arrested Friday on charges of doxxing and making harassing communications after allegedly targeting a police officer who arrested him last year.

According to court documents obtained by WBRC, Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr. allegedly sent the officer a profanity-filled Facebook message before posting a photograph of the officer, his wife and their two children on social media. The caption accompanying the family photo reportedly read, “Dis him?”

Alabama Player Allegedly Targeted Officer Who Arrested Him In 2025

University of Alabama Police Officer Christopher Fuerch told investigators that he received the Facebook Messenger message from Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr. on October 20. The message allegedly read, “Ayy b—- a– n—–? Text me back don’t be no b—-!”

“[The officer] stated he was immediately alarmed by the message due to prior involvements with Kirkpatrick in November 2025, during which [the officer] conducted a traffic stop and Kirkpatrick eluded [the officer] and other officers on the scene,” according to a deposition.

When Fuerch visited Kirkpatrick’s Facebook page to block him, he found a photo of his family. Because of this, according to court records, Fuerch expressed “severe concern for the overall safety and well-being of himself and his family,” particularly because of Kirkpatrick’s “substantial audience and public following.”

Alabama Coach Kalen DeBoer Dismisses Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.

Following his arrest, Alabama initially suspended Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., keeping him out of Saturday’s 31-20 victory over Texas A&M. On Tuesday, however, head coach Kalen DeBoer announced that Kirkpatrick was no longer with the program.

“After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program,” DeBoer said in a statement. “He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players.”

After Kirkpatrick’s arrest in November 2025, when he was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude police and speeding, he was suspended for Alabama’s final seven games of the season. He returned to the team in the spring, but was then also charged in June with leaving the scene of an accident.

According to CBS Sports, Kirkpatrick appeared in 28 games during his three seasons at Alabama, recording 17 tackles. His father was an All-American at Alabama before spending 10 seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.

Now, instead of following in his father’s footsteps, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. finds himself off the team and facing another round of legal trouble.
