New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamar was arrested and booked for battery just hours after playing in the Pro Bowl. More details have emerged following his arrest, and one that involves the NFL itself is quite crazy.

TMZ has reported that the NFL was actually aware that Kamara was a suspect in an incident prior to the Pro Bowl. NFL officials were told the news hour before kickoff that police were looking for Kamara, but both the NFL and law enforcement allowed Kamara to play in the game.

“We got in touch with NFL security about 10 o’clock in the morning and let them know that he (Kamara) was a suspect in the case and they located him and he was already on the field,” LVMPD Assistant Sheriff John McGrath told the Nevada Current.

“So they contacted him and he agreed to meet with us after the game. And so that’s just the way we did it since he was cooperating.”

Kamara’s Alleged Victim Shares Photo Of His Injuries

According to police, Kamara and others were seen on video punching a man several times and stomping on him 23 times outside of a nightclub elevator.

“In an interview with police, Kamara said the victim called one of his friends ugly,” according to NOLA.com.

“Kamara allegedly put his hand on the victim’s chest, preventing him from walking into the elevator, and the victim pushed Kamara’s hand off, according to the report. The victim said he was pushed back from the elevator, and the first punch was thrown after that.”

Kamara’s recollection of the events contradicts what was captured on surveillance video obtained by police. The alleged battery victim has since shared photos of the injuries he suffered.
