Top Draft Picks Scoot Henderson, Amen Thompson Leave Same NBA Summer League Game With Injuries

Scoot Henderson Amen Thompson

Friday was arguably the most anticipated day in the history of the Vegas Summer League. Not only was mega-prospect Victor Wembanyama squaring off against second-overall pick Scoot Henderson, but the third and fourth overall picks, Trailblazers’ Scoot Henderson and Rockets’ Amen Thompson, were also squaring off.

And, while both players may have played better than Miller and Wembanyama did, Scoot Henderson and Amen Thompson both left their debuts with injuries.

Make no mistake, the highlights were great. Henderson, a 6-foot-3 guard who played in the G-League last year, showed off why many thought he was the second-best prospect in the NBA Draft. Check out these highlights.

And, Amen Thompson, who played in the Overtime Elite league alongside his twin brother and fifth pick, Ausar, showed off his elite athleticism in his first action in a Rockets uniform.

But, both left with injuries. Scoot Henderson left with an injury to his shoulder, and Amen Thompson tweaked his ankle.

Thankfully, he was seen without a sling after the game.

Here is Thompson’s injury.

Thankfully, his limp didn’t look too bad after the game.

Hopefully Scoot Henderson and Amen Thompson can return to Summer League soon.
