Andy Reid vows that Travis Kelce is in great shape
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce spent the offseason getting married to pop star Taylor Swift. His head coach Andy Reid does not think those celebrations have affected his conditioning.
Upon his arrival at Kansas City Chiefs training camp, photos of Travis Kelce went viral as the future Hall of Fame tight end looked to be sporting a serious “dad bod.”
Asked about Kelce’s current shape on NFL Network during training camp, the Chiefs head coach dismissed the dad body chatter that has followed Kelce since his wedding photos started circulating online.
Andy Reid dismissed Travis Kelce dad body talk at Chiefs training camp and said he is “playing like crazy”
“I know everybody’s out there saying he’s got the dad body and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he’s always looked,” Reid said.
“He’s focused in and ready to go, and I appreciate that, when you have somebody who’s been here 14 years and wants to be out there every snap. He’s going to play and play hard and be aggressive and not be stopped, and that’s contagious.”
Kelce, Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs will begin their 2026 season with a home matchup against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football on Monday, September 14 at 8:15 p.m. EST. The Chiefs are looking to bounce back from a 2025 season that saw them miss the playoffs for the first time in Patrick Mahomes’ career.
Kelce, gearing up for his 14th season with the Chiefs since being drafted out of the University of Cincinnati in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, is coming off a 2025 campaign that saw him post the third-lowest reception total (76) and second-lowest receiving yardage total (851) of his career.
While the Chiefs are the bookies’ favorites to win the AFC West this season, they’ll certainly have their work cut out, as both the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers are expected to be playoff-caliber teams.
