Angel Reese was extremely emotional after getting eliminated from the WNBA finals.
On Saturday night, the Atlanta Dream lost to the Golden State Valkyries in game 7 of the WNBA finals.
After the game, an emotional Reese addressed the media, and was in near tears while speaking with reporters. Despite being emotional, Reese vowed to return stronger next season.
“It’s tough. Especially with a good group, a great group, that I’ve honestly had the honor to battle with all year,” she told reporters. “They changed my life, and I’m so grateful for them. And I’m so thankful for them. It is tough in the moment, but we’ll be back. And I always say, ‘Delayed not denied.’ This is only year three—[my teammates have] a lot more years left too—but I’m just really grateful I got to go to war with this group. I would do it again, all over again.”

Despite the setback, Reese says she’s looking forward to putting in work in the offseason with her teammates.
“When individually you get better in the offseason, you get better collectively, and you can see that Karl puts a lot of work in,” Reese said. “I’m sure he’s going to see all of us this offseason, and I’m honestly looking forward to another year under Karl and his development and his system.
