Whenever I got my ass kicked growing up, my mom would make a routine out of making me my favorite dinner (chicken, broccoli, ziti), taking me for ice cream, and letting me watch rated R movies. I actually would start to welcome a beat down.
But the Russian familial system is a bit more, uh, tough love. Especially if you raise a household full of MMA fighters. And that was on full display on Thursday’s Fight Nights Global 67 card in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Viktor Kichigin got absolutely dismantled by opponent Ruslan Yamanbae, who would win by TKO in the second round. After the loss, a bloodied, bruised and battered Kichigin lay disoriented on the mat, before his mother (who trained him and his brothers) stormed into the ring for what many would expect to be a show of support. Instead, she berated him and topped it off with a slap to the face, as if it hadn’t already been through hell.
Jesus, that was a brutal beatdown at FNG. Grigoriy Kichigin got his ass kicked, and then his mom slapped the shit out of him afterwards. pic.twitter.com/TJgWyGKDx8

Does anyone know the number to Child Protective Services? Oh, in Russia this is considered a tender moment between mother and child? Ok, never mind then.
