Anthony Edwards Dunked On John Collins So Hard He Gave Him A Concussion

What are some of the best in-game dunks of all-time that you can think of?

There’s DeAndre Jordan on Brandon Knight. And who could forget Vince Carter on Frederic Weis at the 2000 Sydney Olympics?

But Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards may have surpassed them all on Monday night when he dunked on Utah Jazz forward John Collins so hard that Collins left the game and didn’t return.

Utah ultimately ruled Collins out for the game and stated that he was being evaluated for a concussion, which is no laughing matter, but…

Collins even received the Art But Make It Sports treatment on Twitter.

Edwards finished the game with 32 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds in a 114-104 victory despite being without Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns. After the game, he had this to say about his insane dunk:

“UuuaaAAHGHHHH, OH MY GOD,” was Edwards’ initial reaction to seeing the play back. Which, same. “That’s my best dunk of my career. I’m not gon’ lie. I didn’t even react because I dislocated my finger. I couldn’t react to it. I wish I could have reacted to it.”

For Collins, it’s a bit of karma. He’s goes from the dunker to the dunkee after he had a massive poster dunk over Joel Embiid in the 2021 NBA Playoffs.

After that play, Collins had a shirt printed with a picture of his dunk on it. He also got a birthday cake from teammates that had the dunk printed on it.

Something tells us he won’t have shirts or cakes made with Edwards’ dunk on them.

Collins signed a big contract with the Atlanta Hawks shortly after that series. But it didn’t work out and he was traded to Utah this past summer.

Apparently, things aren’t going all that much better with his new team, either.
