Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been fined by the league for his criticism of NBA officials. The announcement was made Wednesday in response to comments made following a matchup against the Thunder.

Edwards was heard blasting the crew after the contest, both on the sidelines and in a postgame interview. He’ll now have to pay up.

Ant-Man wasn’t fond of how his most recent game was called, believing the referees to be on the side of his opponent Monday night. While Minnesota picked up a win over Oklahoma City, Edwards said they did so in spite of officiating.

The guard thinks refs swallowed their whistles a number of times throughout the contest, particularly when the Timberwolves were on the offensive side of the ball. Rather than head to the charity stripe, Edwards said his team was forced to play through contact.

“I’m gonna take the fine,” he quipped after the game. “The refs did not give us any calls tonight. We had to play through every bump, every grab, I don’t know how we won tonight.”

That wasn’t the only criticism spewed by the NBA superstar.

He was also heard shouting about the “cheating a– refs” on the bench after the final buzzer sounded, making sure to let them know he was unhappy.

While it comes as no surprise to Anthony Edwards, he’ll now have to open up his wallet.

The NBA dropped a $40K fine on the trash talker for his “repeated public criticism of officials.”

Despite the supposed disadvantage, the Timberwolves came out on top in the matchup, beating the Thunder by a score of 107-101. Edwards scored a team-high 27 points on 50% shooting while dishing out four assists and bringing down a quartet of boards.

Minnesota improved to 33-14 on the season to stay atop the Western Conference standings.
