The opening game of their ALDS series against the Cleveland Guardians was just about everything the New York Yankees could have asked for.

Their ace, Gerrit Cole. was locked in, giving up just 4 hits and 1 earned run over the course of 6.1 innings and struck out 8 along the way.

The offense wasn’t quite as stellar. The Yankees only scored 1 run in the first 4 innings on a Harrison Bader home run. However, their bats found a bit of life from there.

Josh Donaldson opened up the 5th inning with a bizarre moment. He hit what he believed to be a go-ahead home run to right field, but it hit the top of the wall and he ended up being thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double.

However, the blunder wouldn’t stop the Yankees from putting another run on the board in the inning. An error on an Isiah Kiner-Falefa single put him on third base with one out and an Adam Trevino sacrifice fly would bring him home.

In the next inning, the offense provided a little bit of insurance in a moment that turned out to be just as big for one bettor as it was for the Yankees.

Anthony Rizzo came to the plate in the 6th with the Yanks leading by a run and Aaron Judge on first base. On a full count, Rizzo drove a cutter to right field and this time, it actually cleared the wall for the Yankees.

The homer gave the Yankees some breathing room and delivered a 4-1 win for them.

That number and the Rizzo home run were very important for one bettor.

This bet was surprisingly not much of a sweat for the bettor. Cole easily hit his strikeout total and once Rizzo hit the home run, there weren’t many times that it looked like another run could score.

The biggest threat to the bet came in the top of the next inning, when the Guardians put runners on 1st and 2nd with just one out, but Amed Rosario grounded into a double play to end the danger.

This could be one of the most efficient same game parlay winners bettors will ever hear about.
