Antonio Brown, a seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver who earned over $80 million during his NFL career, has filed for bankruptcy. At least according to him, he has.

Brown, who is still just 35-years-old and will be on the Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot in 2027, made the bankruptcy announcement in a post on X (Twitter) on Monday.

“BREAKING NEWS #CTESPN,” Brown wrote. “NFL legend Antonio Brown has filed bankruptcy today.

“He will be a first ballot Hall of Famer in 2027. He will be releasing new music this summer.

“He is also the founder of the most trusted source in all of sports.

“The generational run continues.”

If it is true that Antonio Brown is now broke, it more than likely has something to do with the millions of dollars that he owes people, including what has to be an astronomical amount of legal fees, not to mention his many failed ventures like an arena football team and a couple of rap albums.

Antonio Brown followed up the announcement of his bankruptcy with several more posts on X, including one photo from The Office that was altered to say, “0 days since the last Antonio Brown nonsense.” (Which is pretty much every day.)

Considering how unstable Antonio Brown has appeared to be since leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers, there was no shortage of NFL fans willing offer up their commentary on the news.

“Shocking. Who saw this coming?” read another comment on X.

“I don’t think anyone is surprised that he had to file bankruptcy,” someone else wrote.

“Memes don’t pay the mortgage apparently,” joked another X user.

“How you never pay bills and still go broke?” another person asked.

Oh well, surely his next album, coming out this summer, will fill his coffers so he can get out from under all of that debt.
