Arch Manning is the most highly-sought after quarterback recruit in a very, very long time. But that isn’t keeping him from diversifying his sports portfolio.

After Isidore Newman High School football’s season came to a close in front of his uncle Peyton in November, Manning wasted no time in getting on the basketball court. His father, Cooper, and he made it a priority for Arch to play multiple sports and it’s a great way to stay in shape.

Although the 6-foot-4, 215-pound junior does not play an overly significant role in the Greenies’ offense, he certainly isn’t a bench warmer. Through his first eight games this season, Manning is averaging 3.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.8 steals per game.

To the surprise of no one, he is a pure athlete with a smooth jumper and great court vision.

He also just looks the part.

Earlier this year, on the gridiron, Manning often looked over top for his favorite target— tight end Will Randle. That is also the case on the hardwood.

During a televised game in early December, Manning dropped a slick, no-look dime to Randle for a layup inside. It was smoother than butter.

Later that game, the two flipped the script. Randle found Manning wide open in the paint for an easy bucket in the paint to seal the win.

He can’t quite dunk in-game, but he gets awfully close.

Through 16 games this year, Newman is 12-4. The Greenies are off for the holiday break right now, but return to action with a very interesting matchup on January 7th.

Newman is playing Sierra Canyon, which is headlined by Bronny James, the son of LeBron James.

James vs Manning is going to be a lot of fun to watch, regardless of the result.
