Texas Quarterback Arch Manning has made what appears to be a pretty bad PR blunder. Credible reports are surfacing that the heir to the Manning throne will not be opting in to the EA Sports College Football 25 video game.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that this is the most-anticipated sports video game of all-time. People wanted to see the sport’s biggest stars opt-in to the game and be a part of it.

Players are getting $600 and a free copy to opt into their name, image, and likeness being in the game. While that doesn’t seem like much, there are 134 FBS football teams. They’re trying to put in 85 players on each team, so the money adds up quickly.

Nearly all the sport’s biggest stars have already announced they are opting in. Arch Manning is the first big name to be reported to not be opting in.

Manning has only taken a few snaps at Texas while sitting behind Quinn Ewers and the now-departed Maalik Murphy as a true freshman last year. But, when you’re from the Manning family and you were arguably the top quarterback in your recruiting class, attention will follow.

Many people were looking forward to playing with him in the game, and are upset about him not being in the game, if the reports are true.

People had some snarky comments about Arch Manning not opting in.

Hopefully Arch Manning comes to his senses and does indeed opt-in to EA Sports College Football 25.
