Texas Quarterback Quinn Ewers To Miss Time, Arch Manning Could Soon Start

While Arch Manning, nephew of Payton and Eli Manning and the next big star out of the Manning quarterback family, has not played much for Texas so far this year. But, that may change soon, as star quarterback Quinn Ewers is injured, and may miss multiple week for injury.

Ewers suffered a sprained AC joint in his throwing should’ve in the team’s 31-24 win over Houston, and he is expected to miss multiple weeks.

If you’re a Longhorn fan that wants Arch Manning to be the starter, you’re not going to get your wish, as it seems as if dual-threat sophomore Maalik Murphy will be the starter this weekend for the 6-1 Longhorns at home against BYU.

But, all of a sudden, Arch Manning is one injury away or a spell of bad play by Murphy away from being the starting quarterback of a team very much in the College Football Playoff hunt for a team ranked 7th in the AP Poll that likely control its own destiny.

Arch, who is the son of Eli and Payton’s brother Cooper who was forced to medically retire prior to his career at Ole Miss, has not thrown a pass this year, as the Longhorns have not been in many blowouts that would allow the third stringers into the game. But, the true freshman was one of the highest-rated quarterback recruits in recent memory and finished his senior year as the top player in the class of 2023.
