Arkansas had high hopes on the offensive side of the ball this year with star quarterback KJ Jefferson at the helm and a new offensive coordinator in Dan Enos. Instead, it’s been a disaster for head coach Sam Pittman and company, and with the team at 2-6, they had to make a change.

That change was firing Dan Enos, who guided the offense to a putrid three points against Mississippi State on Saturday in a 7-3 loss.

Those three points weren’t even earned by the offense. They came after a Bulldog turnover on the first drive of the game. The Razorbacks had just 200 total yards, and the offense looked incredibly clunky.

Currently, the Razorbacks offense is ranked 119th in the country in total yards and 82nd in scoring offense. When you’ve got a future NFL draft pick at quarterback, that’s not good enough.

And, a lot of Razorback fans didn’t like the hire to begin with. The former Central Michigan head coach was most recently at Maryland as their offensive coordinator. But, that offense wasn’t exactly anything to write home about, and it seemed like they could’ve done better to replace Kendal Briles, who went to TCU.

Speaking of firing coaches, it seems like that is what could be happening to the head coach Sam Pittman if things don’t turn around soon. After inheriting a dumpster fire from Chad Morris, he led the Razorbacks to a 9-4 record in year two, and a 7-6 mark in year three last year. But, at 2-6, and with favorable buyout terms, it seems as if he could be fired very soon with the Hogs on the brink of not making a bowl game.

Former Ohio State quarterback and current Arkansas wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton will call plays. He will have a week to get up to speed, as Arkansas has a bye before taking on Florida on November 5.
