Tuesday was a wild day for the NFL world on Twitter, as Asante Samuel ridiculed Sauce Gardner over the current cornerback rankings in the league.

It eventually led to Asante Samuel downplaying Darrelle Revis’ career, and the former New York Jets’ legend had quite the comeback.

Samuel got absolutely smoked online by Revis. So much so, he’s now challenging the soon-to-be Hall of Fame cornerback to a boxing match.

It all started when Samuel claimed the New York media is the reason why Sauce Gardner is ranked so high.

After that, Asante Samuel mentioned Darrelle Revis and that’s when everything went haywire.

That’s when Revis came off the top rope, claiming that he “never viewed [Samuel] more than what was said about him in the scouting report.”

Samuel tried to respond, but it was no use.

The two went back and forth throughout the Tuesday evening and now it seems like Asante Samuel wants to take the argument into the boxing ring with Darrelle Revis.

And, surprisingly enough, it looks like Revis might be up for the challenge.

It’s kind of crazy watching two of the league’s best cornerbacks in history go at each other like this. They’re each a legend in their own right. So, it’s just odd seeing them talk so much trash.

Regardless, it’s been wildly entertaining to watch on Twitter and perhaps a boxing match comes to fruition in the future.

In the meantime, we may see them at each other’s throats for awhile, as neither of them have backed down.
