A college baseball coach is going viral online for his reaction to being ejected from a recent game. Austin Peay’s manager, Roland Fanning, was seen casually sipping a two-liter bottle of Mountain Dew while being tossed from action.

The hilarious moment is now making its way around social media, leading to a fantastic response on social media.

This all started with a home run and a bat flip in the Governors’ Saturday matchup against Liberty. Flames second baseman Nathan Keeter homered in the first inning and took a moment to admire the shot before rounding the bases.

Austin Peay took offense to the bat flip and slow stroll around the diamond, and they decided to retaliate later in the game. In a following at-bat, Governors pitcher Peyton Jula went up and in to Keeter to voice the team’s displeasure.

The chin music landed ejections for the pitcher, catcher, and head coach.

While most would be fuming, Roland Fanning was cool as a cucumber. Cameras caught the coach chatting with the umpire after the fact all while drinking a two-liter Mountain Dew straight from the bottle.

College baseball fans were quick to react to the amusing image online. Here’s what they were saying.

One person wrote, “Lol lol this is amazing.” Someone else said, “It is the ultimate performance drink.”

This fan suggested that there could be a chance to capitalize on the moment, commenting, “I see an NIL opportunity in his near future!”

The ejections must’ve riled the troops as Austin Peay would score six runs in the next frame. Keeter’s home three-run homer put Liberty up 8-2 in the first inning. The Governors outscored the Flames 16-7 over the final eight innings to win the game 18-15.
