A cheating scandal has rocked Australian cricket. Ashleigh Gardner has been accused by her ex of sleeping with a teammate.
Monica Wright publicly aired the dirty laundry on Instagram. In doing so, she ID’d the alleged third party.
The Daily Mail broke a story about the breakup on Sunday. Wright took things a step further in the moments that followed.

Wright and Gardner got engaged in 2024 and married in April of 2025. Months later, the relationship deteriorated.
Gardner is a star for Team Australia. She was appointed co-vice captain on January 28th for the Southern Stars, who are fresh off an ICC Women’s T20 World Cup championship.
The Daily Mail report detailed “awkwardness” between the couple during the Women’s ODI World Cup in India last year. “It was a little bit weird,” an insider with knowledge of the situation told the outlet.
It was the start of the end of the relationship.
Wright and Gardner met on a dating app. The former is not a cricket player, though she was close with members of the team.
When asked, Cricket Australia’s chief of communications refused to expand. “Yeah, no comment on that,” said Richard Hines when probed.
The Daily Mail reports that Gardner attempted to smooth things over. The relationship could not be salvaged, though details were not provided as to the cause of the split.
Wright recently publicized the drama online.

Wright reposted the Daily Mail article to her Instagram story alongside a caption that read, “Nah, this s— is too vague. I’ll tell you exactly what happened.”
She then proceeded to post a photo of Gardner’s teammate, Georgia Voll, while saying, “This is who my wife cheated on me with.”
To this point, there has been no confirmation provided for the accusations. Gardner has not publicly responded. She did delete a wedding photo from her Instagram account at some point after the split.
