The Cleveland Browns could trade, or possibly even cut, Baker Mayfield at any moment now. After trading for Deshaun Watson, the Browns don’t have a need to keep Mayfield, nor his large contract, on the books. Mayfield also wants out of Cleveland, so the shoe should drop in the coming days.

Having said that, the trade market for Mayfield seems to be shrinking. It was reported that Mayfield wanted to be traded to the Indianapolis Colts, but after they dealt for Matt Ryan that’s not going to happen. The Carolina Panthers have also reportedly shown interest, but various reports indicate they aren’t actually interested in Mayfield at all.

The Seattle Seahawks are in need of a quarterback and they’ve been linked to the 26-year-old as well.

One team that hasn’t been mentioned as a potential landing spot is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Well, until Dan Orlovsky floated the idea on Twitter. The former NFL QB thinks the Bucs should trade for Mayfield and have him be the No. 2 guy behind Tom Brady.

Orlovsky is simply floating his opinion here, but crazier things have happened. Perhaps Mayfield wouldn’t mind going to Tampa Bay for a year and being the No.2 guy, it could also be his best option when it’s all said and done, too.

Social media had mixed reactions to Orlovsky’s idea:
