Baker Mayfield really knows how to get people going.
Early this morning, GQ magazine released an interview with Mayfield and the Browns QB had some interesting thoughts on the Giants drafting Duke’s Daniel Jones.

Near our booth, a SportsCenter segment about the New York Giants catches Mayfield’s eye. “I cannot believe the Giants took Daniel Jones,” Mayfield says, about New York’s much-maligned draft-day decision to spend the sixth pick on the quarterback from Duke (whose college record was a measly 17–19). “Blows my mind.”
I tell Mayfield that I’m mystified that so many supposedly expert quarterback scouts seem unable to predict what makes a good NFL quarterback.
“Some people overthink it,” Mayfield says. “That’s where people go wrong. They forget you’ve gotta win.”

Mayfield was instantly slammed for his comments by the good folks on Twitter.
Man it's getting harder and harder to defend some of Baker Mayfield's off the field comments. Why take shots at Daniel Jones? Completely unnecessary….

OK- Baker Mayfield needs to shut his mouth. Dude talks like he’s accomplished the world already. Saying it “blows his mind” the giants drafted jones is so unnecessary. He has the most weapons in the league this year, if the browns don’t go deep in the playoffs, he’s a joke.

I find it interesting that Baker Mayfield has so much to say however has yet to prove himself in the NFL. Win something in the NFL, Baker. Even then, once you win, set yourself up to be one of the greats. When you’re great, you don’t need to put others down. Don’t be Uncle Rico.
