Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams was spotted at Wrigley Field this weekend where he took in the sights and sounds of a Cubs baseball matchup. Prior to first pitch, the passer was able to spend some time in the team’s facilities.

One now-viral video shows Caleb Williams taking a few cuts off the tee in the batting cage. It’s sparked an inferno of online reaction from both fans and media.

Had you not already known that Williams was the batter in the video, you probably would’ve had a hard time imagining that he’ll soon be a starting NFL quarterback.

“My grandma has a better swing.”

Baseball has a knack for making top-level athletes across other sports look silly – look no further than soccer star Neymar’s continued whiffs while taking on a session of soft toss.

Caleb Williams saw a similar fate!

Obviously, the skills across the two sports differ vastly, but you’d expect a Heisman trophy winning signal caller to boast better hand-eye coordination. Instead, he looked like one of the most unathletic people on the planet!

He’s not letting the BP performance keep him down, though.

Caleb Williams is already winning the city of Chicago over.

Despite the unfortunate batting practice session, he’s already winning the city over this offseason in the best way possible – a bar crawl!

He was spotted making his way around Wrigleyville prior to the start of that Cubs vs. Reds matchup, hyping up the home crowd before first pitch.

“That’s my QB1.”

Williams was selected with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he expects to replace Justin Fields under center now that the former starter is in Pittsburgh.

The hype surrounding the passer is well-known, but he doesn’t seem to be letting the pressures of immediate success get to him in the offseason. Instead, he’s enjoying his new home while getting acclimated with both fans and teammates.

The batting practice session wasn’t great, but luckily, he’ll be judged by his success on the gridiron, not the diamond.
