The Chicago Bears have made a move in their coaching staff, firing running backs coach David Walker, according to TheAthletic.

The human resources department at the Bears‘ headquarters apparently played a part in this decision.

Walker had joined the team in 2022 under then new head coach Matt Eberflus, bringing in his experience from the Detroit Lions, where he coached running backs from 2016 to 2018.

This marks the second assistant coach to bid farewell to the team this season. Back in September, defensive coordinator Alan Williams stepped away from his role, and the Bears kept the exact reason under wraps.

The Bears are the second team to fire a coach the past 24-hours, as the Raiders let go of head coach Josh McDaniels earlier today.

Despite a 2-6 record this season, the Bears aren’t throwing in the towel just yet. They’ve recently made a trade, sending a 2nd round pick for Commanders’ defensive end Montez Sweat, and they’re eagerly awaiting the return of quarterback Justin Fields from injury.
