Former UFC heavyweight champions Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar met twice in the octagon during their storied mixed martial arts careers. Frank won the first fight. Brock won the second fight, which was to unify the UFC Heavyweight Championship as Mir held the interim title at the time. Now, 22-year-old Bella Mir says she’d like to fight 23-year-old Mya Lesnar in the UFC to break the tie.

Bella Mir, who wrestled at the Division I level in college and was the 2022 American National Jiu-Jitsu Champion, is currently 3-0 in her mixed martial arts career. Meanwhile, Mya Lesnar was the 2024 NCAA indoor champion and the 2025 NCAA outdoor championship in the shot put. So the chances of the fight happening anytime soon is pretty small. That doesn’t mean it isn’t fun to think about, nor does it mean that it won’t ever happen.

The daughters share their fathers’ legacies

“I think a lot of people that have parents that were really great, especially like my dad, want to build their own legacy,” Bella Mir recently told MMA Fighting. “But I just love being a part of his [legacy], and I love that he gets to be a part of mine, too, in the future when he’s going to be one of the best MMA coaches in the world, and I definitely believe that. So I definitely think that we share each other’s story.

“Sometimes I’m just like I wish they would create a movie or something, this is just so cool. You just don’t see it actually happen in real life. Your father is a two-time UFC heavyweight champ and then you go and win all this and take that spot from him. I think it’s so cool. I love that we share a legacy.”

A fight to finish the trilogy

When Mya Lesnar’s name was brought up, Bella Mir replied that a lot of people that have asked her if she wants to fight her and “do the Brock Lesnar-Frank Mir trilogy, but in daughter form.”

“I know Dana [White] would 100 percent approve of that if Mya was fighting,” she said. “So if Mya Lesnar, if you’re ever hearing this, you should train and we could just have a little fight. Because that would be awesome. Who wouldn’t want to see that? I’m like, ‘Mya, just train for a year.’ She’s athletic. She’ll get it down. She trains for a year? That would be insane. Honestly.”

She’s not wrong

“That actually would be crazy,” Bella Mir continued. “Maybe the universe, it knew her and I were going to finish that trilogy fight so they didn’t have our dads finish it. That would be awesome. I think I would be more hyped for that than anyone watching honestly.”

Mir is set to compete in her fourth MMA fight on Sunday against Stephanie Calderon at Fury Challenger Series 14 in Houston.
