As you probably heard, in a move that was inevitable and more than likely finalized with the benching of Eli Manning, New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo, along with the team’s GM Floyd Reese, were fired on Monday.
Considering that everyone from the granddaughter of the Giants founder, Kate Mara to several former Giants players and even Philip Rivers thought the Manning benching was a horrible move, coupled with a 2-10 record, McAdoo and Reese’s firing comes as little surprise.
Even the owner of the team, John Mara, was reportedly P.O’d about it.
Giants owner John Mara's anger was obvious to those around the organization over the last week. Was told Mara was "furious" over the damage done to the team's image in the wake of the Manning benching.

Which, of course, has led to much speculation that the Geno Smith era in New York has finally, and mercifully, come to an end.
My understanding is that this is coming. Don’t be surprised if Eli Manning is back under center. https://t.co/pALz7uHfVk

As for the rest of the internet, much like when Jeff Fisher finally got the axe in Los Angeles, the reactions to the Giants firings have been comedy gold. (And almost as good as reactions to rumors Fisher is heading to UCLA.)
I guess when Ben McAdoo came in this morning his key card didn't work.

Hope Ben McAdoo can go back to his first love of being savagely killed in John Wick fight scenes

Eli Manning's start streak died so that Ben McAdoo could be fired. God bless that man.

Me? I’m just happy McAdoo is gone so I will stop referring to him as BOB McAdoo, the former NBA star, who until BEN came along was the only McAdoo I had ever heard of before in my life.
