Ben Simmons was once the pride and joy of Philadelphia. He was selected first overall in the 2016 NBA Draft with LeBron James and Michael Jordan comparisons abound. After all, he was 6’10’ with great ball handling, vision, and athleticism.

Problem is, the guy turned out to be allergic to getting it done in tough moments. Ben Simmons continually choked in big spots, and never learned to shoot whatsoever. Things came to a head when he refused to dunk the basketball in a crucial moment in game 7 of the 2021 Eastern Conference Semifinals. It was the last time that Ben Simmons played for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ben Simmons now plays for the Nets, though things aren’t going well for him there. But, he simply couldn’t return to Philadelphia, where he was public enemy number one in a city that will love you when they love you and hate you when they hate you.

It turns out that Ben Simmons may not have been to blame for the Philadelphia 76ers playoff push as on Sunday, the team collapsed in embarrassing fashion in a blowout game 7 loss to the Boston Celtics.

The game was close up until the early third quarter, when the Celtics went on a nuclear 25-3 run. During the blowout second half, Ben Simmons hilariously trolled the Sixers.

Oh no, Philly fans. Better luck next time.
