Bengals’ Vontaze Burfict Taunts Titans Fans After Getting Ejected For Making Contact With Referee

Vontaze Burfict just can’t stay away from trouble. During today’s Bengals-Titans game, the controversial Bengals linebacker was ejected from making contact with a ref after he was arguing a penalty call after a questionable late hit on Marcus Mariota.

As he made his way into the locker room, Burfict taunted the Titans crowd.

Burfict is no stranger to getting trouble with the refs and the league. Earlier this season, Burfict was suspended for the first three games of the 2017 NFL season for what was deemed an illegal hit on Kansas City Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman in Week 2 of the preseason.

Burfict also missed the first three games of the 2016 season when he delivered a dirty hit on Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown in the head, in a playoff game.

We’ll have to see what disciplinary action the league will give Burfict for his latest on-the-field mishap.

Update: We now have video of Burfict’s “contact with the official” and it appears the referee may have pulled the trigger a bit too early.

While Burfict did technically “make contact with an official” there was nothing there worthy of a suspension. This a case where Burfict’s reputation played a part in the referees to eject him.
