The Cincinnati Bengals are looking to secure long-term extensions for wide receiver Tee Higgins and linebacker Logan Wilson, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

The team highly values Higgins, considering him an “elite” wide receiver, despite some outside perceptions that label him as a great WR2 rather than an exceptional number 1 option.

The Bengals intend to focus on these contract negotiations once they have finalized a deal with quarterback Joe Burrow. Burrow is expected to earn over $50 million in his next contract, but he has expressed his commitment to keeping his teammates in mind, a sentiment appreciated by Higgins.

Tee Higgins, a second-round pick out of Clemson in the 2020 NFL Draft, stands at an imposing 6’4″ and weighs 215 pounds. Since entering the league, Higgins has played in 53 games including the playoffs and surpassed the 1,000 receiving yards mark in each of the past two seasons.

Throughout his career, Higgins has accumulated impressive statistics, including 246 total catches for 3,485 yards and 22 touchdowns. With his towering presence, Higgins has proven to be a valuable asset to Joe Burrow, particularly in the red zone and on jump ball situations. He has formed a formidable partnership with the faster and explosive Ja’Marr Chase, who is widely regarded as one of the league’s best receivers.

On the defensive side of the ball, Logan Wilson, a third-round pick from Wyoming in the 2020 NFL Draft, has caught the attention of the Bengals organization. Wilson, listed at 6’2″ and weighing 250 pounds, has participated in 47 games throughout his career, including playoff appearances.

Wilson has showcased his versatility, recording 318 tackles, 7 interceptions, 14 passes defended, and 4.5 sacks. Last season in 2022, despite missing two games, Wilson achieved a career-high 123 tackles, further solidifying his value to the team.

With the desire to lock down both Higgins and Wilson for the long term, the Bengals are demonstrating their commitment to building a strong core of talented players around Joe Burrow.

As negotiations progress, fans and analysts alike will be eagerly awaiting the outcome, as securing these key players would further enhance the Bengals’ aspirations for success in the upcoming seasons.
