Through the first six weeks of the season, Falcons’ rookie running back Bijan Robinson has been one of the best running backs in the league. But, for some reason, the seemingly healthy Robinson did not get a single touch in the first half of a crucial NFC South game featuring the 3-3 Falcons and 3-2 Buccaneers.

This made no sense, as Robinson was not listed on the injury list, and there weren’t any rumors of any disciplinary issues coming into the game. Still, he was only on the field for six snaps and received zero touches.

Something had to be up, because he had 106 touches through the first six games, and has been an incredible productive player both for the Falcons and fantasy owners.

But, at halftime of the game, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith clarified what was going on with Robinson, saying he was dealing with an illness.

Atlanta is heavily invested in Robinson. After he starred at Texans, Bijan Robinson was taken in the first round with the eighth pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and had 589 scrimmage yards through the team’s first six games.

At halftime, the score of the game was tied at 10.
