It feels strange to not see Bill Belichick coaching the New England Patriots this season. But, he’s been staying pretty busy even as he’s taken a step back from coaching.
Belichick is everywhere in the media these days. One of the things he’s doing is making videos for his YouTube channel alongside Matt Patricia and Mike Lombardi, and the three of them revealed who they think have been the league’s best players so far this season.
The three put out weekly videos, but this one may have been the best one yet. Take a look.
Here are the selections.
QB: Lamar Jackson
RB: Saquon Barkley
WR: Justin Jefferson
WR: Ja’Marr Chase
WR: CeeDee Lamb
TE: George Kittle
T: Tristan Wirfs
G: Joel Bitonio
C: Creed Humphrey
G: Chris Lindstrom
T: Penei Sewell
DE: Myles Garrett
DT: Dexter Lawrence
DT: Zach Allen
DE: Nick Bosa
LB: TJ Watt
LB: Fred Warner
LB: Roquan Smith
CB: Patrick Surtain
CB: Denzel Ward
CB: Marlon Humphrey
S: Brian Branch
S: Xavier McKinney
They also went through and filled out an entire roster of special teams players, in classic Bill Belichick fashion.
Overall, this seems like a very good list that shouldn’t be filled with too much controversy. They did note that injuries kept a few guys off this list, like Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and Texans wide receiver Nico Collins.
I’m sure the list will look much different at the end of the year.
