Teams across the league are finalizing their rosters for the start of training camp in preparation of the 2023 season.

The Buffalo Bills brought in a handful of players to tryout for the team at the conclusion of the NFL Draft.

One of which is a former first round pick who has been out of the league for five years. If it pans out, then the Bills could improve their defensive line for the upcoming season.

According to Dov Kleiman, Buffalo has officially signed former first round selection, Shane Ray.

He hasn’t played in the NFL since 2018 and delivered an emotional message after joining the Bills defensive line.

This doesn’t guarantee he’ll make the final roster. However, Ray could prove to be a solid acquisition if he proves himself throughout the summer.

But that all depends on how he performs in practices. Having said that, it’s not like the Bills’ defensive line is a weak area.

Ray is competing for a job as a defensive end. So, he’ll have to outplay guys like Von Miller, Greg Rousseau, Shaq Lawson, and AJ Epenesa.

That’s a solid group of defensive ends for Shane Ray to compete against. Even so, he seems happy to just have a second chance in the NFL.

With that said, look for the Bills to provide updates throughout the offseason. There is still a long ways to go. So you never know exactly which players will make the final roster or not.

Keep an eye out for more NFL news, as there are still a handful of exciting names floating around in the free agency pool.
