There’s no telling what the future holds for Blake Griffin, the 34-year-old big man who hasn’t been able to find a new home in the NBA following his one-year stint with the Celtics last season. However, it appears he’s keeping busy with the help of a somewhat unexpected gig at Costco.

It’s hard to believe it’s been close to 15 years since the Los Angeles Clippers selected Blake Griffin with the first overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. He’d made quite a name for himself during his time with the Oklahoma Sooners, and he lived up to the hype by winning Rookie of the Year after having his debut delayed by an injury before emerging as one of the biggest stars in the league.

In his prime, Griffin was best known for the high-flying abilities that helped him win the Slam Dunk Contest by jumping over the hood of a car, although it’s pretty hard to deny his affinity for aerobatics played a role in the wear and tear that led to him dealing with the injuries that hampered his abilities during the end of his tenure with the Clippers and beyond.

He did briefly return to form after he was traded to the Pistons in 2018, but as things currently stand, it seems like it’s only a matter of time until he announces his time in the NBA has come to an end (he hinted that he was thinking about retiring in the fall of 2023, although there is a chance he could attempt to sign with a contender this season in the hopes of securing a championship before hanging up his sneakers).

It does look like the free agent has figured out a way to keep busy when you consider he was recently spotted handing out free samples at a Costco location in Irvine, California.

As much as I would love to live in a world where Blake Griffin decided to get a job at Costco after retiring from the NBA, it appears he was simply putting in some work on behalf of the “clean nutrition” company he’s invested in.
