Boston sports radio host Tony Massarotti wants Bill Belichick to be fired after the Patriots’ 0-2 start and he has a surprising amount of fan support.

“You know what I discovered researching Brandon Staley?” said Greg Bedard, referring to Staley being on the hot seat in Los Angeles (and not dealing with it very well).

“His record to this point, so this is his third season, he’s 19-17 including 0-2 this year.

“Bill Belichick over the same point? 18-18.

“Which brings us to the second name on the list. Bill Belichick,” Massarotti interjected.

“Right now…?” Michael Felger asked Massarotti.

“Right now,” he shot back. “Why are you surprised, I said I would fire him three years ago. Out. Bye. Done. See you later. It should have already happened.”

The crew then debated when it “should it have happened” and they seemed to come to a consensus that Belichick should have been fired either after the “Cam Newton year” or when “Brady was walking out the door.”

“Last year was a fireable offense,” Mazz continued his roll, adding that he would be fine with Robert Kraft firing Bill Belichick today.

“Turn it over to Mayo and O’Brien,” he said.

How quickly Boston fans will turn…

“Handing the keys to Matty P in 22 is like a sales manager hiring the coffee machine to head of sales,” one Patriots fan commented. “Fireable offense to say the least.”

“For the first time, I finally agree with these dudes,” another fan wrote. “I would have fired him after last season.”

“Absolutely!” yet another fan agreed. “I don’t agree with them often, but they are right this time.”

Then again, several others just called the radio hosts clowns for their hot Hoodie take.

71-year-old Bill Belichick won SIX Super Bowls for Patriots fans. Once winning three in four years and then three more in a five year span.

It’s only been five years since the Patriots won a Super Bowl. (Compare that to the suffering fans of the Titans, Falcons, Cardinals, Bills, Panthers, Bengals, Browns, Jaguars, Lions, Texans, Vikings, and Chargers, who have NEVER won a Super Bowl.)

He is 262-108 as head coach in New England (.708), but yes, he is 25-25 over the past three years.

Is his time up?
